SB 268 - Offenses Against The Unborn Child

PLEASE SUPPORT SB 268 -Offenses Against The Unborn ChildSenate Bill 268 was introduced in response to the horrific tragedy that recently occurred in Longmont, CO involving Michelle Wilkins and her baby daughter Aurora.   Senate Bill 268 would explicitly recognize unborn children as victims of criminal acts. Currently, Colorado law does not recognize the unborn child as a separate victim when certain heinous crimes occur.  The majority of states and the federal government have fetal homicide laws in place that recognize the unborn child as a victim of certain crimes.  This is a common sense piece of legislation that is long overdue in Colorado.  The Catholic Conference SUPPORTS this legislation.Senate Bill 268 has been assigned to the Senate Judiciary Committee and will be heard in committee next weekACTION:Please contact the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and your State Senator and ask them to SUPPORT this important piece of legislation.TO READ SENATE BILL 268CLICK HERETO FIND YOUR SENATORCLICK HERESENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEESen.
