Little Sisters of the Poor Day of Service March 23, 2016

On March 23rd, while the Supreme Court of the United States hears a historic case on religious liberty, women across the United States will stand together with one of the plaintiffs–the Little Sisters of the Poor–by serving alongside them. The Little Sisters of the Poor faithfully live with and care for the elderly poor. After promising that the Little Sisters’ religious beliefs would be protected, the government created a new regulation requiring the Little Sisters to change their healthcare plan to offer services that violate Catholic teaching. Our message is simple: We love the Little Sisters. Their work caring for the elderly poor is invaluable to our communities. They should not be coerced to violate their consciences or be fined $70 million a year in order to continue serving. We are volunteering with them because we are grateful for their work and for their willingness to advocate for everyone's freedom to live by their beliefs.
