Election Day is right around the corner and the Colorado Catholic Conference has put together resources to help you evaluate the issues and form your conscience. This year Coloradans will be asked to vote on the legalization of physician assisted suicide and we have provided additional information on why physician assisted suicide is dangerous for Colorado and why Proposition 106 should be rejected.
We must take our duty as Catholics and citizens seriously and make our voices heard in the public square.
Any politics of human dignity must seriously address issues of racism, poverty, hunger, employment, education, housing, and health care. . . . If we understand the human person as the “temple of the Holy Spirit”—the living house of God— then these issues fall logically into place as the crossbeams and walls of that house. All direct attacks on innocent human life, such as abortion and euthanasia, strike at the house’s foundation.
